A brief history of the rich Chandraganj Parishad : --------

Chandraganj is part of the western part of Begumganj upazila and is known as Chandraganj union of Laxmipur Sadar upazila. There are two markets here. Mohammadpur village of Aman Ullahpur union of Chandraganj East Bazar is located. Chandraganj West Bazar is located in 10 villages of Chandraganj union Paschimaltifpur and Deo. . The former names of Chandraganj were Kaliganj and Thakur's Hat. The zamindars of Kaliganj were Kali Nath Guha Roy, Durga Mohan Guha Roy, Sheeta Nath Guha Roy and Sulta Sunduri (Multa Sundari). According to some, Kaliganj was named after Zamindar Kali Nath Guha Roy. According to some, the naming of Kaliganj after the Kali temple established a few hundred years ago in the northern market of the western part of Chandraganj, According to many, there was a Kali tree a hundred years ago in the northern market of the western part where the followers of traditional religion used to worship. From that khan it has been known as Kaliganj for hundreds of years.

In 1890, the eminent saint of the subcontinent, A. Kamel Alhaj Maulvi Hamid Ullah (old Huzur) established a madrasa up to the eighth grade in the northern part of the western part of Chandraganj. When he took steps to upgrade the madrasa to the tenth class in 1895, he left the western bazaar in the face of opposition from the then zamindars and established a madrasa up to the tenth class in the eastern bazaar. Named after Chandraganj Karamatia Madrasa. He was the caliph of Karmat Ali Jainpur, a preacher and reformer of Islam in Jainpur, Uttar Pradesh, India. Ali Jainpuri became known as Karamat Ali Jainpuri because of his miraculous deeds. Sher-e-Bangla Abul Qasim Fazlul Haque, the Chief Minister of undivided Bengal, was a student of Maulvi Hamid Ullah Bura Huzur. Karamat Ali Jainpuri Madrasa is named after Chandraganj Karamatia Alia Madrasa. Zamindras are the madrasas of Maulvi Hadim Ullah (old lord) Due to opposition, he changed the name of 'Kaliganj' to 'Chandraganj' by comparing it with the bright light of the moon. The name Chandraganj given by the old lord spreads the radiance of light.
